The Heart Transplant Club was founded by a small group of early transplants recipients at St.Vincent’s Hospital in Sydney, at the instigation of Dr. Victor Chang
The Club’s changed it’s name to Australian Heart/Lung Transplant Association.
The Committee registered the association as a tax deductible gift recipient..
Was a growing year for AHLTA as we had many new members.
With funds donated to and raised by the AHLTA, and after an arrangement with the Trustees of St Vincent’s & Mater Hospitals, AHLTA house was officially opened, principally for country recipients who have to stay near the Hospital for extended periods immediately after transplantation.
AHLTA’s financial assistance programme was introduced to further support the members.
AHLTA celebrates 30 years of working with heart and lung recipients and their families.
We remain committed to support heart and lung transplant recipients and their families to ensure they have a healthy and active life.
