FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE

Financial Assistance through AHLTA

AHLTA established in 2012 a Financial Assistance Program to provide limited financial assistance to patients, carers and their families. The difficulties that transplant patients and families experience because of the costs of ongoing health care and other expenses related to transplant indicated to us that it would be helpful to provide financial assistance in this area. We have been fortunate to receive some extra funding from the Bluesand Foundation and this is allowing us to extend our already successful Financial Assistance Program.

Assistance is provided at three levels.

Level 1: Emergency Care Package for pre-transplant and recent transplant recipients and or members who are affected by unexpected emergencies.: $500

Level 2: Financial Assistance Grant – available to any pre- and post-transplant recipients. Terms and Conditions Apply. This can be accessed 6 months after Level 1 package.

Level 3: Financial Assistance Grant – A patient/family can apply for a second Financial Assistance grant up to $1,000. Terms and Conditions Apply. This can be accessed 12 months after Level 2 package.

Individuals can only apply for each package once.

Emergency Package for Transplant Patients.

AHLTA is here to support and assist pre- and post-transplant recipients and their families and carers. Often during the workup, shortly after transplant and when an unexpected event happens, patients need a financial boost. This grant is for use by patients, carers and families to assist with day-to-day living costs. This grant is subject to Social Worker endorsement.

AHLTA, in consultation with the Transplant Social Work Department can offer the following:

  • $500 towards day-to-day expenses

CONDITIONS:

  • You must reside in Australia and be a member of AHLTA.
  • There is a limit of one application per person/family.
  • Applications are subject to your hospital’s Social Work Department endorsement.
  • AHLTA reserves the right to refuse the application if in receipt of other fundraising in last 12months.
  • AHLTA reserves the right to decline applications even if the above conditions are met.

Please complete the application form HERE and return to the AHLTA President at [email protected] or return to Social Worker who will pass it on to us.

You can then apply for our Financial Assistance Program ($1,000) after 6 months if you are still experiencing financial hardship.
