Thank you for your interest in volunteering with AHLTA. Volunteering is more than helping to improve the lives of patients and their families, it provides support to patients who are extremely unwell and who sometimes just need to talk to someone who understands them and their families.
At AHLTA we rely on volunteers to help us achieve our aim of supporting patients and their families throughout the process of transplantation. Our volunteers play an integral role in providing support to AHLTA and in providing information to anyone affected by Heart and/or Lung transplantation. They also assist us to raise awareness of Organ Donation to the general public.
The benefits of volunteering with AHLTA:
- It allows you to connect with others, meet new people and build friendships with fellow patients and their families.
- It allows you to give back to the heart/lung transplant community by providing support to those in need.
- If you have recently retired or are no longer working it’s a great way to fill in some of your newly found spare time!
- If you are interested in becoming part of a rewarding engagement with us, we would be delighted to hear from you.
Please email Lea Marheine at leafromlithgow@gmail.com if you would like to know more about our volunteering program.
Making a cash donation to AHLTA is the most effective and easiest way to help us support Heart and Lung transplant patients. It allows us to further assist our members when needed.
However, if you have a particular area of interest or if you wish to direct your donation to a particular program such as our Financial Assistance Program or maintenance of AHLTA house, please let us know when you make the donation so that we can honour your wish.
Please browse our programs under “What We Do” to learn about our programs and initiatives.
AHLTA is an Incorporated Association, and is a registered charity and is endorsed as a Deductible Gift Recipient by the Australian Taxation Office. Therefore, donations over $2.00 are tax deductible
